Immunization Program To Be Held

JACKSON - According to the 100 percent Immunizations for Seniors Campaign, older adults are at much greater risk of dying from influenza and pneumonia than from an auto accident. The good news is that seniors can protect themselves with proper immunization. In fact, a study by The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics indicates that those who receive proper immunization have 50 to 60 percent protection from hospitalization due to complications and 80 percent prevention from flu-related deaths.

The flu shot will be one of several immunizations discussed at The Orchards at Bartley Townsquare on September 4 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Dr. Kevin Berg, M.D., from CentraState Family Medicine Residency Program, will present the program. He will speak about the safety and effectiveness of recommended immunizations, such as the flu vaccine, Pneumovax and Tetanus shot.

For additional information or to R.S.V.P., call The Orchards at 732-730-1700 by September 2.
