Jackson Library To Honor Holocaust Memorial Day

JACKSON - The Jackson branch of the Ocean County Library, 2 Jackson Drive, will present three films and discussions on May 20 and 22 to honor Holocaust Memorial Day (Yom Hashoah), which was observed May 2 this year.

Yom HaShoah, established by Israel's Knesset, is a day to remember the Jews who perished and for those who showed resistance and heroism against Nazism.

The question and answer sessions will be led by the filmproducers, local Jewish community members, local survivors and the Center for Holocaust Studies at Brookdale Community College.

A 32-panel display featuring survivors of the Holocaust will also be featured in the library's meeting room through May 27. Kosher refreshments will be served, and registration is required due to the limited space. Call the branch at 732-928-4400, or visit their Web site, www.theoceancountylibrary.org, to make a reservation.

May 20, 3 p.m. - "Watermarks" filmand discussion will be presented. Meet Yaron Zilberman, the filmproducer. The filmdiscussion leader will be Barbara Rosenthal.

May 22, 7 p.m. - "Weapons of the Spirit" filmand discussion. For more information about "Weapons of the Spirit," please visit http:// www.chambon.org/weaponsen.htm.
