Go "Hawk-Watching" This Autumn

Shown above is a Red-Shoulder Hawk.
LINCROFT - Learn how to recognize these large local birds that fly overhead during their annual fall migration. The Monmouth County Park System is sponsoring a series of day trips to local Hawk watching hot spots. Bring your own binoculars (or use a pair provided by the park system) and pack a lunch. Each of the following day trips begin at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Huber Woods Park Environmental Center on Brown's Dock Rd. in the Locust section of Middletown.

The program will be held on September 22, October 3 and November 3 and 14.

Participants will travel via mini-bus to some of the area's premier hawk-watching spots and return at approximately 5 p.m. The cost is $31 per person.

To register or for further information, please call 732-842-4000, Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
