Jackson Food Pantry Plans For Holidays
JACKSON - The Jackson Food Pantry run by the Jackson Women of Today will be accepting donations for the December holiday distribution. Food donations needed for the holiday distributions are turkeys, canned and fresh hams, chickens, canned yams and potatoes, stuffing, gravy, canned corn, carrots, green beans and peas, muffin or biscuit mixes, pies, olives, and other trimmings. All food donations will be accepted only on December 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If not able to drop off then, please contact Vickie or Carol at 732-833-6800 to arrange a drop off time. The distribution of holiday food at the Jackson Food Pantry will be on December 14, so please plan accordingly to drop off donations.
The Holiday schedule is as follows: December 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the community volunteer shelf stocking day; small donations will also be accepted. Anyone wishing to drop off turkeys or hams and other holiday items can do so at this time. December 14 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. is the client food distribution only. Please bring all required paperwork for registration including proof of address, photo identification and a utility bill. Anyone wishing to volunteer for either day please contact Vickie at 732-252-6862 to add you to the list.
Items needed on a regular basis are personal care items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, paper products (no plates or cups), laundry and dish detergents, baby formula, sizes 2 to 6T toddler diapers, stages food, baby wipes, canned vegetables (no can beans please), tuna, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, cereals, canned or jar red sauce, dry pasta, can soups, and rice or pasta mixes.
The Jackson Food Pantry is located at 62 Don Connor Blvd, where donations can be dropped off during the scheduled days. Any community service or civic group interested in running food drives or making donations, please contact Vickie or Carol at 732-833- 6800, or 732-252-6862. Financial donations can be sent to JWOT, P.O. Box 1042, Jackson NJ 08527, designate to Food Pantry.
